The Harlem Renaissance was in the 'Roaring Twenties'.
During the Harlem Renaissance artists tried promoting black pride by developing a newer image of African Americans, by celebrating
their blues and folklore traditions. They wanted to completely destroy the old racist steroetypes. The things created during
the Renaissance were for the most part showing confidence, optimism, and a positive attitude about the future destined for
the black Americans.
